Growth Plan ● Paid lead generation ● 2027 launch

Find the real cost of a lead. Then scale it.

In your 16th year, growth has come from relationships, trade shows and word of mouth. A growing sales team now needs its own lead flow, and the first job is learning what a lead costs. Below are three ways to launch. It's a first pass from one conversation and preliminary research, built to be refined with your team.

What We Heard

From our October 21 call, plus a first read of search demand for what you sell.

Sixteen years on relationships. Now the sales team needs its own lead flow.

End of July

About 50%

Those buyers were already searching for you, so their close rate is a ceiling for colder paid traffic, not a forecast.

The goal: a real cost per lead first.

First quarterA baseline cost per lead on each channel we run.
ThenWork back to 10 leads per rep per week as the sales team grows.
Budget$4,000 to $5,000 a month in ad spend, separate from fees. A $10,000 start for three months, then stepping down, is also on the table.
Leads land inZoho, where your sales team works them.
"So we're really looking at trying to establish, like, a cost per lead."Jasmine Fisch, Director of Marketing, Oct 21

Buyers already search for this. The pool is real, and small.

The agency terms cost the least, mostly under $7 a click, and they fit your model most closely. Targeted email and list rental terms cost the most, at $20 to $30. We start on exact and phrase match only, and keep out email software shoppers, job seekers and people building their own lists. List and data ads can get closer review from Google, so they run in their own campaigns and never hold back the rest.

Third-party estimates for the US, October 2026. We confirm volumes and costs in Google's own planner before launch.

Search sets the baseline. A second channel carries the volume.

Three Ways To Launch

Every plan runs Google Search on $5,000 a month. The plans differ in when LinkedIn starts, and how wide it goes.

Google Search, in four groups.

The 4 Conversion Intent Buckets
Your name410 searches a month. Low cost, and it protects buyers you already earned.
White label and wholesale1,640 a month. Agencies looking for a product to resell. The closest fit, and the cheapest clicks.
Ready to send1,810 a month. Targeted email, list rental, and email plus retargeting searches.
Audience data2,870 a month. Consumer email lists, direct mail lists and data append. More brand-direct buyers.

Each group runs as its own campaign, so your name never props up the numbers for colder searches.

  • The four groups above.
  • A baseline cost per demo request from search first.
Phase 2, once the mark holds

Add LinkedIn, $5,000 more a month

  • Warm first: past prospects, lost deals, trade-show contacts and your sales team's target accounts.
  • Then one agency size, cold: owners of small agencies, or the size worth the most to you.

We size LinkedIn on the real audience: 10 to 15 impressions per person over 90 days. If the budget can't cover an audience, we narrow it.

  • One agency size, cold: owners of small agencies, or the size worth the most to you.
  • Retargeting for site visitors and ad engagers, with a direct offer, like a free audience count for an agency's next pitch.

Warm audiences get funded first, up to what their size can use. We rebalance at week 4.

What you'll know, and when.

Weeks 1 to 4Search: a first read on cost per demo request. LinkedIn: how much of your lists we reach, and how often.
Weeks 4 to 8Which agencies engage, and how fast the retargeting pool grows.
Weeks 8 to 13Qualified demos and pipeline, by channel.
Day 90Cost per qualified demo on each channel, side by side.

2Day 90 decides. Grow, or step down.

If both channels hold their marks

Grow

  • Add budget to the channel with the better cost per qualified demo.
  • Open a second agency size on LinkedIn.
If you'd rather run leaner

Step down to $5,000

  • Keep the channel with the cheaper qualified demo.
  • The other channel pauses, and its management fee goes with it.

LinkedIn won't match search's cost per lead in month one. We judge it on qualified demos and pipeline by day 90.

  • Warm lists and retargeting, as in Plan B.
  • Small agencies: owners, founders and partners.
  • Mid-size and larger agencies: media directors, media buyers and client services leads.

What the extra $5,000 buys: both agency sizes tested in the first quarter, so day 90 shows which size to fund. Then grow, or step down to Plan B.

What we won't promise

  • A lead count before the baseline month is in.
  • LinkedIn matching search's cost per lead in month one.
  • Ten leads per rep per week from search alone.

What we commit to

  • Proper in-account conversion tracking before any spend goes live.
  • Spend steps up only when a channel holds its mark two weeks running.
  • A clear day-90 read on cost per qualified demo, by channel.

Deliberately not in scope

  • Meta. A fit later for business owners who buy direct.
  • Programmatic display.
  • ChatGPT ads. We can absolutely run them. On this budget, we'd hold them for Phase 2 as a test and put the first dollars into platforms with known costs.
  • Ad creative production, unless you add it. The options are on the Investment tab.

Similar buyers, similar builds.

A first pass. Your take shapes the next one.

Your take
  1. Agencies or brand-direct first? The plan leads with agencies. If direct buyers matter more, the audience data terms and Meta move up.
  2. What is a new client worth in the first year, agency and direct? With that and a demo close rate, we can show what each plan returns.
  3. Is data append a product you sell? About 700 of the searches above are for it.
  4. How do demo requests land in Zoho today, and who follows up on them?
NextInvestmentWhat each plan costs a month, plus one-time builds.

Investment

Monthly figures are ad spend plus management. Ad spend is paid directly to the platforms. One-time builds are listed separately.

Three ways to start. We recommend Plan B.

Offline conversion tracking, in every plan$1,500 one timeClosed clients from your CRM go back to the ad platforms, so bidding learns which leads become clients, not just which ones fill out a form.
Optional: landing pages$2,000 a page, one timeOne page per buyer, like small agencies or brand-direct, so the ad and the page say the same thing and retargeting can follow what each visitor looked at.
Optional: ad creative$1,500 a monthEach month, 3 static ads and 2 GIFs (up to 5 ads), with creative strategy and 1 revision round, in every format and for any platform we run. Other creative options are available, from larger monthly packages to one-off ads.

Optional: landing pages, one time$2,000 a page$2,000 a page$2,000 a page
Optional: ad creative, a month$1,500$1,500$1,500

Plan A, Phase 2 adds LinkedIn at $2,000 a month in management on $5,000 more in ad spend: $14,000 a month all in. Plan B stepped down at day 90 runs $7,000 a month all in.

Each platform's management fee is the greater of a flat monthly fee or a percentage of its ad spend, never both added together. The agreement sets the term.

Next step

This is a first pass, built on one conversation and preliminary research. Tell us what to keep and what to change, and we'll refine it with your team. Once you pick a starting point, we send the agreement, and our team schedules the kickoff after it's signed.
